YAYASANNYA
We educate and support Sumbanese youth with the aim of breaking the cycle of poverty. Our staff consists almost exclusively of students who are trained by the Sumba Hospitality Foundation.
Every rupiah you spend at Makan Dulu goes to the foundation.

If we could, we would have gladly dined here every night whilst in Sumba. Friendliest staff who are actually hospitality students. We came here after a long day of travelling and had the set which offers a variety of dishes to be shared by 2. Definitely more than enough to feed 2. Highly recommend for its reasonable pricing, excellent service and delicious food.

Must-visit during your stay in Sumba
During my stay in Sumba, I went several times to Makan Dulu and always had a great experience. The staff is very welcoming and the setting of the restaurant is beautiful. The price-quality ratio is extremely good, with delicious and refined Indonesian food for very affordable prices. They distinguish themselves with their high-quality coffees that are made by a professional barista (for me the best coffee on the island). If you are looking for delicious food and drinks for either breakfast, lunch or dinner; Makan Dulu is the place to go!

Best restaurant in Sumba with friendliest staff!
I visited Makan Dulu twice with my family. We all enjoyed the food very much, the children too! The service was perfect. The students that work here are extremely friendly and motivated, which makes the experience so much better than just another restaurant. You can have a menu in English: easy if you don't speak the language 🙂 This was the best food we had in Sumba. The prices are reasonable for what you get. It's close to the airport, a little off the main road, but definitely worth the detour.

Nice place to hang out and very instagrammable!
We are so happy to find this hidden gem in Sumba! We ate Sumbanese Nasi Campur and it tastes fantastic! We recommend this restaurant to anyone who visits Sumba.
